Why would God answer a foreigner who calls on Him?

2 Chronicles 6:32 “Likewise, when a foreigner, who is not of your people Israel, comes from a far country for the sake of your great name and your mighty hand and your outstretched arm, when he comes and prays toward this house,  hear from heaven your dwelling place and do according to all for which the foreigner calls to you, in order that all the peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you, as do your people Israel, and that they may know that this house that I have built is called by your name.

A couple of thoughts:  In this chapter, there is a list of IFs:

IF this happens or we do this… and THEN God will do something.

Sprinkled in are a few  WHENs:

WHEN this happens….THEN God will…..

I love this passage!  I am a foreigner, not born into the Jewish people.  But WHEN I come, for the sake of God’s great name and His mighty hand and His outstretched arm, WHEN I come and pray, GOD hears and answers.  Why would He answer a foreigner who calls on Him?

Missions!  “In order that all the peoples of the earth my know and fear” God!  He answers for the sake of His name and His fame in all the earth.
