Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down,
but a good word makes him glad. Proverbs 12:25
Do you have anxiety in your heart? Are there others around you that are being weighed down with an anxious heart? According to the Bible, a good word can change their outlook. Will you reach out with a kind word to cheer them up? Don’t underestimate the power of gracious, kind communication! You have the opportunity to give life and joy through your words of encouragement.
It’s not always easy. For instance:
“Good morning, Pooh Bear,” said Eeyore gloomily. “If it is a good morning,” he said. “Which I doubt,” said he.”Why, what’s the matter?””Nothing, Pooh Bear, nothing. We can’t all, and some of us don’t. That’s all there is to it.””Can’t all what?” said Pooh, rubbing his nose.”Gaiety. Song-and-dance. Here we go round the mulberry bush.”
Some folks are not easily cheered. But trust the words of Proverbs. A good word makes a person glad!
And please, even if you are naturally an “Eeyore,” accept kind words when they are given to you.
