Why are you reading Revelation this month? There are a multitude of different interpretations of the symbols and prophecies found in this book. I read many different commentaries, each with their view on what the seven bowls of wrath mean. While others may take a keen interest in exactly what is meant, I believe one points should not be missed here in Revelation 16:5-7
“Just are you, O Holy One, who is and who was,
for you brought these judgments.
6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets,
and you have given them blood to drink.
It is what they deserve!”
And I heard the altar saying,“Yes, Lord God the Almighty,
true and just are your judgments!”
Regardless of your view on the interpretation of Revelation, don’t miss this point. God is just and holy. Wrath and punishment that is poured out in judgment is deserved! Why?
Revelation 16:9 “……They did not repent and give him glory.”
