2 Chronicles 9:8 Blessed be the Lord your God, who has delighted in you and set you on his throne as king for the Lord your God! Because your God loved Israel and would establish them forever, he has made you king over them, that you may execute justice and righteousness.”
Where does Solomon’s greatness come from? Not from his good looks or political power or popularity. From God! God set him on the throne as king, to fulfill His purposes for Israel. Because of God’s great love for the people of Israel, He established Solomon as king to execute justice and righteousness. Proverbs 21:1 says, “The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; he turns it wherever he will.”
