Acts 2:39, 47 For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
Repentance, salvation, the gift of the Holy Spirit…all this is promised to US! The promise was not just for the Jewish nation, but for the Gentiles. I am one of those “who are far off.” Salvation is ultimately a work and a gift of God, not of us (so we can’t boast about it, Paul says in Ephesians 2) God is sovereign in salvation, as He is the only One who can raise the dead, turn the heart of stone to a heart of flesh that enables true repentance and faith. God saves people. He seeks and saves the lost. Day by day…person by person….what a great promise for missions!!
