I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;
I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.
I will be glad and exult in you;
I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. Psalm 9:1-2
Charles H. Spurgeon writes in The Treasury of David:
It is our duty to praise the Lord; let us perform it as a privilege. Observe that David’s praise is all given to the Lord. Praise is to be offered to God alone; we may be grateful to the intermediate agent, but our thanks must have long wings and mount aloft to heaven. With my whole heart. Half heart is no heart.
One thought on “Whole-hearted praise!”
Praise is expressing to God our appreciation and understanding of His worth. In each Psalm, there is an attribute of God we can thank Him for.
