Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” (John 7:37-38)
Are you thirsty? Thirsty for Jesus, the living water? Thirsty for salvation?
We should be. However, due to the sin and the fall, we try other things that do not provide satisfaction. We are blind to our need for Jesus. We try money, pleasure, popularity.
Until Jesus opens our blind eyes, we don’t know our desperate condition. We do not realize our need, our guilt, our lostness. We are dead in our trespasses and sin. It is a gift of grace to be awakened to our need. It is God’s mercy that we become thirsty. In Matthew 5, Jesus says we are blessed if we hunger and thirst after righteousness.
Come to Jesus and drink deeply. Believe in Jesus!
Amen!!
