Don’t be stupid

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,
but he who hates reproof is stupid
. Proverbs 12:1

No one really LOVES getting disciplined, at the time, but when we look back, we can see the benefits.  We learn much through the loving correction of others, whether our parents or faithful friends.  Proverbs says we are STUPID if we “hate reproof.”  What does this mean practically in our lives?  How can we NOT be fools?

blind spotInvite a few faithful friends to be open with you.  We all have “blind spots” and we all overlook our own faults (even though we can see them easily in others, Matthew 7:3)  Be brave.  Ask for help in seeing those “blind spots.”  It is the SMART thing to do, and you will gain valuable knowledge about yourself.
