Proverbs 6:20-23 My son, keep your father’s commandment, and forsake not your mother’s teaching. Bind them on your heart always; tie them around your neck. When you walk, theywill lead you; when you lie down, they will watch over you; and when you awake, they will talk with you. For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching a light, and the reproofs of discipline are the way of life,
In Proverbs up until now, usually only the father is mentioned. As a mother, I am grateful that moms are mentioned here as a teacher here and in chapter 1 verse 8. Young men need their fathers AND their mothers!

This reminds me of what the Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy:
I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well.
2 Timothy 1:5 ESV
Mothers, do not underestimate the influence you have on the lives of your children. Pray for them. Teach them about God. Encourage them to follow Jesus. Love them.
